Collection: Skin Barrier Repair

Sensitive skin and sensitised skin are not the same. One you were born with, and one can be undone. Sensitised skin is a compromised barrier, usually from over-exfoliation, retinoids introduced too fast, harsh foaming cleansers or too many actives at once, and it is reversible, typically in eight to twelve weeks with the right approach.

Reactive skin is where product-hopping does the most damage, so we keep the routine short and pause strong actives. Skincare alone does not replace a skin assessment and a personalised plan from our experienced dermal clinicians, and in clinic our Barrier Repair Facial and LED support the reset.

Our nurse and dermal clinician picks

  • Cleanse gently: iS Clinical Cream Cleanser is non-foaming and non-stripping. Changing the cleanser is often the first and biggest change we make.
  • Restore: iS Clinical Reparative Moisture Emulsion is lightweight enough for skin that will not tolerate anything heavy.
  • Most compromised skin: iS Clinical Sheald Recovery Balm, where the skin needs occlusion and repair rather than another active.
  • Repair and hydrate: Dermaceutic Panthenol Ceutic and Hyal Ceutic Cream, where the barrier needs repairing after genuine damage.
  • Soothing hydration: iS Clinical Hydra-Cool Serum and Copper Firming Mist.
